Sculpture set up has grown in popularity, whereby temporary sculptures are put in in open spaces throughout occasions like festivals. In the second half of the eighteenth century, many non-public collections of art have been opened to the general public, and during and after the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars many royal collections were nationalized, even where the monarchy remained in place, as in Spain and Bavaria. In Europe, from the Late Medieval period onwards, areas in royal palaces, castles, and enormous nation houses of the social elite were often made partially accessible to sections of the general public, the place art collections could be viewed. At the Palace of Versailles, entrance was restricted to people wearing the proper apparel â€“ the appropriate accessories (silver shoe buckles and a sword) might be hired from shops outside.
